About Watershed projects:

river_before.jpgWatershed Landcare projects include physical 'on-the-ground' activities like revegetation, sowing pasture, fencing, watering points; and 'capacity building' educational activities such as workshops, field days and seminars.

Some topics our projects have covered in the past...

Soil carbon, riparian restoration, woody shrub encroachment, stress free stockmanship, serrated tussock, soil health, grazing management, school garden classrooms, paddock plant identification, native plants in rural cemeteries, dung beetles, salinity, cultural awareness, bird watching, electric fencing, sustainable homes...!

The pictures (right) show a project site on Lawson Creek. Same rainfall in preceeding 10 months... the only difference was management and some fencing!

Watershed Landcare develops projects based on member interests and issues. Got a topic of interest to you? Give us a call to discuss how we might develop your project idea!

Where does the money come from?

Watershed Landcare is a volunteer, community organisation primarily run by a paid part-time coordinator and a volunteer executive committee.

Much of the funding we use to run member projects comes from Federal, State, Local Government or other funding bodies. We can also potentially fund member project activities is through fund-raising events and sponsorship.
