The NSW DPI, Central West CMA and Watershed Landcare are holding a variety of field days between now and the end of the year.
NSW DPI
Learn how to identify, prevent and manage Chilean Needle Grass, Serrated Tussock, Coolatai Grass and African Lovegrass at a workshop on 30 November at the Ilford Hall from 9.00-12.30.

Central West CMA
Native Grasses – biology, phenology and management workshop. Come and learn how growth stages of plants are affected by management actions, and how you can have a positive impact and achieve more diverse pastures. Held in conjunction with the NSW DPI, the workshop will take place at the Goolma Hall on Thursday 15 December, 7.30-11.30am, commencing with brekky. The Mudgee office of the Central West CMA is also holding their Christmas Sausage Sizzle on Wednesday 21 December; 12.00-2.00pm at 90 Market St. Catch up with the CMA staff and celebrate the end of another successful year in natural resource management. RSVP Bruce Christie on 6372 8909.
Watershed Landcare
Come and hear about "Biological Weed Control with Livestock" and how the techniques used in this project could be implemented on your farm with some of your weeds. Watershed Landcare is holding a seminar at the Mudgee CMA Office (90 Market St) on Saturday 10December starting at 10.00am with morning tea provided. The seminar will give information on livestock handling techniques that enable greater utilisation of edible plants in the landscape. We will also discuss field observations made by the project with regards to impact on Serrated Tussock.

Also, it’s that time of year again, to kick back, crack a beer (or glass of bubbles) and enjoy an inspiring short film with fellow landcarers in the district, with a bit of AGM on the side.
The film we’ve picked this year is an inspiring wee presentation that shows how we can tap into living processes to do the hard work for us.
The Watershed AGM and short film night will take place on Wednesday 7 December, 6.00-8.00pm, at the Watershed Straw Bale Lecture Room, (located at AREC, Ulan Rd). Please RSVP by 5 December.
